      Grades 2-4 In this volume of the Mystical Pencil series, the action picks up after a summary of the previous two volumes. When anyone draws with the mystical pencil, the drawings come to life. First Alex used it, then Sara found it and drew with it, and now Stewart has discovered it. The robots he draws for his science-fair project come to life, and one takes the pencil to create even more robots, including an evil one who steals the pencil to draw an army. Now the three kids have to defeat the robots and get the pencil back. The cartoony and colorful fast-paced adventure will help young readers imagine what would happen if their drawings came to life. At the end of the book, Evans provides a short lesson on drawing a robot face.
